What is FROG Binder?
Our FROG binders are a way for students to stay organized in school.
When does that FROG binder come home?
These binders should be coming home on a nightly basis.
What kind of information can I find in the FROG binder?
In the FROG binders, you can find a daily planner, which will include any homework. The planner page also lets you know how your child's behavior was for the day. Please sign the planner page in the provided box each night, so I know that you are aware of both homework and behavior for the day.
You will also find a homework section. Paper found in this part of the folder should be completed and returned to school the following day.
Graded papers and other useful information will be sent home on most days. Please remember to empty this section of your child's binder out. The papers in the "Take Home/Stay at Home" folder should do just that. They are to be taken out and left at home.
Finally, Mrs. Bady has a folder for her Word Study (spelling) that she does with the kids. In the near future, spelling lists will be sent home for your child to practice.
As a parent, do I have any responsiblities when it comes to the FROG binder?
YES! You should be looking at your child's binder on a nightly basis. Make sure that your child is doing his homework. Talk to your child about his behavior for the day. Praise him or talk to him about how he can make tomorrow better. Check out how your student is doing in school. Look over graded papers. Read through notes/letters that are sent home.
In addition to helping the kids stay on track, the FROG binders are meant to be a communication tool between school and home.
